Kickstarter Project Update #1: The Good News and the Other Thing

THE GOOD NEWS:

Blane hit the $5,000 goal! Love and gratitude to everyone who pledged and helped by spreading the word -- we feel so fortunate to have your support and can't wait to get you your goods. Thank you!

THE OTHER THING:

There have been some scheduling setbacks due to factors that were largely out of the band's control. These things happen, but it recently became clear that our best choice to get this album finished in the near future and sounding the way we want it to was to go in a different direction with the remaining recording and the mixing of the album.

What does this mean? It does NOT mean we're starting over; the finish line is visible, the majority of the record is tracked and is going to measure up to the very high standards we set for ourselves.

Needless to say, changing course in the midst of this process is not the way to save money or stick to a budget; extra spending here is unavoidable if we're not going to compromise on quality, and we're not.

So, we appreciate any help as we try to make the most of the home stretch in our Kickstarter campaign. You can post/re-post the link on the Facetweets, email your dad, and if you haven't already, get in on an advance copy of the album, artwork, cover songs and more by pledging.

In the words of Capt'n Witt, "Nobody said it was gonna be easy." And in the words of Kid Rock, "Are some women and children going to die? Yeah. But it's doing the right thing."
